NOTTM CASUALS II 12 - 41 SOUTHWELL BANDITS - 02/11/24
NLD MEN'S JUNIOR XV CUP (why is it called Junior??)
MATCH REPORT
The Bandits visited Nottingham Casuals RFC on Saturday looking to build on some great recent results in this first cup game featuring a 3s side since before COVID.
We played a Casuals IIs side containing plenty of familiar faces from our meeting with their 3rd team, earlier in the season. The game was played in great spirits and the Bandits built a first half lead (0-24) with some great scores from the backs. We made hard work of it all game with a high penalty count (resulting in 2 yellows at different points in the game) and conceded 2 scores, including a penalty try from a quality Casuals rolling maul.
In the second half, we improved the discipline later on and added further scores to keep the board ticking over and finished as 12 - 41 winners, despite a rare off day with the boot.
This was also the first 3s game broadcast live on VEO and we had plenty of viewers from across the globe. Start around 47 mins in
Casuals were great hosts and wished the team all the best for the next round. Thanks to them for the post-match hospitality in the clubhouse afterwards.
We would like to make a special mention to Ollie, the Casuals physio, who helped out several Bandits players with injuries throughout the game. A top man and they are fortunate to have him supporting their team.
