Congratulations to Fridge for his Well Deserved Award!

James Beaumont is Gascoine's Volunteer of the Month for September!

On Saturday afternoon James Beaumont, better known as ‘Fridge’, was presented with the Volunteer of the Month by President, Conrad Hunt, in recognition of his considerable contribution to the work of the club in recent months.

Conrad explained that having joined the General Committee in March, Fridge had channelled his enthusiasm into a string a projects which included the organisation of the Naked-ish calendar being launched today, which featured photos of both club officers and players who had taken their kit off to help raise funds of the @looseheadz, a rugby charity which promotes the provision of mental health support in clubs around the world.

He went on to take responsibility for organising the club’s Winter Ball at @norwoodng25 in November for which all the tables had already been sold.

In addition, he had joined the Pitches Working Group whose objective was to improve the availability of pitch and other space for both games and training. In this capacity he had been largely responsible for negotiating a new deal with the Minster School (Southwell) whereby going forward the club will be provided with access to the school rugby pitch free of charge in return for taking on the responsibility for its maintenance, which would be of great benefit to both parties.

In concluding his remarks Conrad said that, although working with James could be exhausting because of his relentless energy, he was indeed a very worthy winner of the Gascoine’s Volunteer of the Month Award for September.

Well done to Fridge on your well deserved award!

PS In addition to all of this, he is also a regular player for the club's 2nd team and even managed to get over the line for a score in Friday night's win away at Mellish RFC
